About Philosophy Bytes
I am constantly thinking of things. These things I think of may not be scholarly work, but I can’t help but look around me and think about the implications of my life. I don’t pretend the world revolves around me, but I do think a lot of people must be thinking the same thing, or would think the same thing if they could stop for a moment.
My problem is I have to stop. I can’t avoid these crazy thoughts. They literally keep me up at night. I figured that I may as well start writing them down. I always loved writing, but this sort of writing is new to me. I’m still not sure how it will all come out. Will it be funny, serious, sad, perplexing, pensive, or personal? I guess we’ll find out.
About Me
I was conceived in a town about 30 miles north of Chicago, just after the storied “Miracle on Ice.” And so, nine months later, I would become my parents’ miracle on ice. I was always a clumsy boy, but, somehow, with a hockey stick in my hand I willed myself to feign coordination. Thus, my first love became hockey. To this day there are few things I enjoy more than the fastest game on two feet.
Along with hockey, writing competes for the top spot in my interests. From my early days of writing about a fantasy world trapped in my fifth grade locker to more recent creations that I hope will one day be published, I’ve never put my pen down. I have written poetry, stories, comics, narratives, news articles, and now I write my very own blog.
While writing this blog I also work part in a book distribution company, part time as a tutor (trying to use the Master’s degree in education I recently earned), and part time doing things only the ghosts and I known about. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in economics. The vast amounts of expertise I gathered while earning both degrees occasionally came in handy while I was a consultant for IBM and a high school mathematics teacher in New York City. Currently, as I try to develop my third career, they are useless (shhh, keep that between you and me!).
